Recently, the Canadian Parliament passed sweeping refroms as to how glasses and contact lenses are ordered and dispensed in that country (pt's are no longer required to supply a prescription for glasses or contacts, nor are suppliers required to be lisenced provider in Canada of glasses and contacts. Eye care providers are also required by law to supply(with out charge) a glasses presription AND contact lens presription weather or not the pt asks for it).
My Questions to those interested are:
1) Why wouldn't U.S. consumers buy from canadian suppliers (either on-line or
accross the border) without the need for a precription?
2) What will stop the U.S. Government from imposing such laws in the future?
3) How will The attitude of the big online suppliers (800contacts,
vision direct, etc.) change towards their "partnerships" with the
big discount retailers?
