Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Exciting opportunity for Ophthalmic Assistants to work at Massachusetts Eye and Ear a world-renowned research center, and consistently ranks in the top five in the nation for both specialties in U.S. News & World Report’s annual hospital survey, competitive pay and benefits available.
Responsible for performing a full range of ophthalmic functions such as performing an initial patient screening with a detailed history, and performing such tests as visual acuity (near and distance, infants and children), color vision, manual lensometry, pupil testing, axial length, auto refraction, estimation of Anterior Chamber depth and basic Slit Lamp Examination. Other tests may include applanation tonometry, automated visual fields (perimetry), auto keratometry, corneal topography, and external photography.
•Current JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
•At least 1 year of experience in a supervised setting as an Ophthalmic Assistant
•CPR certification
