NEW YORK—Taking a cue from the Beatles, rock music fans from throughout the optical industry will “come together” at the 5th annual EyeRock Concert, which will take place here during International Vision Expo in March. Thirty of the optical industry’s best rock musicians and singers will collaborate for the show, which will benefit Luxottica’s OneSight foundation, a family of vision care charities dedicated to providing healthy vision and eyewear to those in need.
For the second year, EyeRock will be held at The Hard Rock Cafe in New York City’s Times Square on Saturday, March 24 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. This year’s spotlight performer is Grammy-nominated artist Lisa Loeb.
“I’m excited to be a part of this event,” said Loeb, who in 2010 created her own eyewear line with Classique Eyewear. “EyeRock provides a fun way for musicians to help this very deserving organization!”
Converse and John Varvatos by REM Eyewear is returning as EyeRock’s Presenting Sponsor. Mike Hundert, CEO of REM Eyewear, called the concert one-of-a kind. “This is definitely the most entertaining and innovative event our industry hosts each year. We’re thrilled to support it and the wonderful good that comes from its success.”
The Official Media Sponsor of the event is Jobson Medical Information.
EyeRock organizers said EyeRock sponsorship is an ideal way for companies to showcase their support for OneSight while providing great add-on entertainment in mid-town Manhattan for clients attending Vision Expo East. Sponsors receive many benefits, including complimentary tickets.
“The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square is the perfect venue for EyeRock and we’re expecting our biggest crowd ever,” said Jason Singh, OD, senior director of OneSight. “You won’t want to miss the chance to see industry colleagues perform.”
Tickets for the event are available for a $75 donation to OneSight and will be available starting Feb. 1. For more information about EyeRock New York and to become a sponsor, visit www.onesight.org.
