Madison, WI, April 21, 2010. –Eyedock, LLC, has announced that its online clinical reference is now free to all optometry students and faculty. In so doing, the founders of EyeDock anticipate donating over $100,000 in subscriptions to optometric teaching institutions each year.
The EyeDock subscription provides eye care professionals with a searchable contact lens and pharmaceuticals database. The website also features useful tools, such as a cross-cylinder calculator, Parks’ three-step assistant, and an employee incentive calculator.
“Out unconditional investment in the teaching institutions will help prepare future optometrists to apply information technology to patient care,” says Brian Chou, OD, FAAO, co-developer of EyeDock.com.
University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry, was the first institution granted free subscriptions. “Students and faculty alike have been pleased to have access to this very useful resource,” says John Corzine, OD, FAAO, Associate Clinical Professor and Graduate Advisor at University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry.
Schools and colleges of optometry that have not yet set up free access to EyeDock.com should designate a representative to contact Todd Zarwell, OD, FAAO, at todd@eyedock.com.
EyeDock.com is the leading online clinical reference for eye care professionals with over 1,500 paid subscribers. The company was founded in 2003 by two optometrists in clinical practice, Todd Zarwell, OD, FAAO, and Brian Chou, OD, FAAO. Visit www.eyedock.com to learn more.
